My male has 17, and my female has either 14 or 15. Try comparing the shape of the genital operculum to my male and my female.

I also noticed my female's pectines are a lot "wimpier" looking than my male's.

Both males? :(

That's about how I felt when I discovered my huge "possibly gravid Heterometrus sp." was a male.

At least they're huge and alive in the meantime, and they'd make some great preserved specimens a few years down the line.

I finally found a big female while scoping out the local stores. But I think she is already gravid. It just makes sense she was in her own gene pool in the wild ...Forest Emps?, hope so anyway. It'd be nice to get some big ones out there going again.

SWEEET! :D!

Thinking of trying to breed a pure forest-morph line . . . ?

Hmm, my local shop can order emps and giant forest scorpions wonder if they are meaning spinifers? The forests are 5 bucks more. Wouldn't mind getting the larger morph of emps to start up my next large communal.
