I’m wondering how this Ts leg got hurt took pictures of the cage . Found no proof of It getting hurt by the lid. IMG_6437.jpeg IMG_6436.jpeg IMG_6440.jpeg IMG_6441.jpeg IMG_6442.jpeg IMG_6443.jpeg IMG_6444.jpeg

She could easily have slipped on the glass and landed funny on it. If where the web is is solid corkbark it gives a hard surface for her to land on . I have had a 5 inch blondi recently jump out of a catch cup while I was rehousing her , the cup was only 2 inches off her sub n she landed funny bent her bk foot bk. She seemed fine from it but dropped the leg on her recent moult so I assume it was worse then I thought but point being she managed it from a 2 inch drop onto fresh sub and moss n still hurt herself. It is easy for them to do this from much less of a height then you would think.
You may never know for sure but it would be my best guess. Hopefully she will be fine from it , I have everything crossed for yous 🤞🤞🤞.

I’m inclined to believe the same as @Charliemum pointed out above.

Also you said

This sounds like the lid is indeed woven wire mesh. Is that correct? You may have not personally seen it get stuck but it very likely could have.

Agree sounds like a fall, even a short fall could do that damage, hope she is OK.

The only thing i could see is falling.

you have the experience to see how this could happen. If you have more dirt add some.

i know you know this, but for others new to the board and tarantula husbandry, a big terrestrial tarantula like that, has less risk of injury if it is housed in an enclosure that: when tarantula stands on back legs, its front legs touch top of enclosure.

sure, i see tons of videos by great keepers, that keep their terrestrials in super low sub. its not because they don’t climb, that they might never.

This type of lid I wanted to replace but ran out of money then it got too challenging to figure out how to replace it. Any tips ? Here’s the link https://arachnoboards.com/threads/how-to-replacing-zilla-screen-lid-or-modify-it.362739/post-3410035

looks like it got caught somewhere or slip or fall landing on that side and unfortunately bent it back, give it a couple of molts and it should be back to normal

She’s not doing good I found Her sitting in the same spot as last night and she didn’t run away like normal was barely responsive. I placed her fangs on the water dish incase it’s dehydration. IMG_6700.jpeg

Did you change soil level in enclosure?
I can add a few inches were the second water dish used to be. But I can’t add much of the cage will be too heavy for me to carry. Video wont upload. There’s about 5-6” of fall space it’s legspan. IMG_6710.jpeg IMG_6708.jpeg

then i guess you have your answer. I dont understand why you dont understand it.

it keeps falling.

i cant prove it: i cant see it. But its the only logical explanation. Othwrwise lets just say it has dks syndrome. because at this point, its not getting better. It will just keep climbing, falling, and breaking segments.

eventualy you will be spoon feeding it.
