A lot of people Pooh Poohing you're mad scientist scheme, but I am on board. I say you go with a high oxygen super pressurized centrifuge. It will take about 20 years worth of selective breeding and possibly anabolic steroids or a nano tech supplemental exoskeleton but I believe in the project. How else are you going to create a stagecoach team of giant tarantulas ? Someone's got to make the sacrifices and I think you should be the Tony Stark of tarantula husbandry.

Did you miss the part where they linked the 15% increased growth to tracheal growth? Spiders don't have tracheas or anything similar that can grow or not grow according to oxigen levels. Also it didn't work in roaches.
Also I want to see the original publication. Popular science reporting is notorious for sensationalizing and overblowing mediocre results.

And that's it 15% - hardly worth the trouble - 8" LP - so you're going to go to all this trouble to have a 15% size increase, mmm...seems like a waste of time and effort!
