Is it illegal to have Ts as pets in Kentucky?
That's what he's doing, mateBut check your state laws.
What a helpful member - so in the US in certain states it's illegal to own tarantulas - well I never, I really didn't know that, as informative as ever @EulersK - I'm glad I'm here in the UK, so many different laws in so many different states, makes me glad to be British. That's what he's doing, mate
@howaboutno1, here's the info you're looking for. It looks like you're in the clear, but read it for yourself to double check.

I'm glad you're happy where you live. I'm pretty happy I live where I live as well. I like the fact that in my state, I (and others that live here) can decide how we would like to live without being solely dictated to by a large federal (country) government body. That local problems that matter to us can be decided by us and not some dude (half the country away) who has no clue about the issue. What a helpful member - so in the US in certain states it's illegal to own tarantulas - well I never, I really didn't know that, as informative as ever @EulersK - I'm glad I'm here in the UK, so many different laws in so many different states, makes me glad to be British.
As I'm in Scotland we do have different laws to the rest of the UK - It makes sense to have different laws depending which state you live in - wholly due to the size of the US,(you could fit the UK 100 times over in the area of the US) what's good for one state may be completely wrong and unforgivable in another. Just my 2c worth. And as you say it's not hard to find out the laws in the state you live in.I'm glad you're happy where you live. I'm pretty happy I live where I do as well. It's not very hard to find out the laws in the state you live in. They are publicly available and with the greatness that is the internet pretty easy to find.
I honestly couldn't imagine living in a country that had blanket laws for everyone regardless of the needs of local smaller groups or how they would like to live.
Oh come on. Takes 5s to Google and findThat's what he's doing, mate

State laws would be very unlikely to cover this.. restrictions are done by local municipalities....so check with your village, town or city to be sure....whats legal by you might be illegal down the road across town lines. What a helpful member - so in the US in certain states it's illegal to own tarantulas - well I never, I really didn't know that, as informative as ever @EulersK - I'm glad I'm here in the UK, so many different laws in so many different states, makes me glad to be British.
This! Virginia has no laws against tarantulas, but Fairfax county (for example) does. Cross into Loudoun county and you're in the clear for the most part, but then go to Leesburg (in Loudoun) and that crappy little city has a law against them, too. State is a good place to start, but check even more locally.State laws would be very unlikely to cover this.. restrictions are done by local municipalities....so check with your village, town or city to be sure....whats legal by you might be illegal down the road across town lines.
That's crazy - so from a mile away if you're close to the border, the law can be completely different depending on which side of the border of your particular state you live in - absurd! This! In my case, illegal where I go to school and where I work but legal where I live. That's crazy - so from a mile away if you're close to the border, the law can be completely different depending on which side of the border of your particular state you live in - absurd!
Does that make your blood boil mate, or do you see the common sense in the law? Just wondering what your take on the whole situation is?In my case, illegal where I go to school and where I work but legal where I live.
Can't answer for @Thistles, but county laws regarding things like this are rarely enforced so it's pretty much not a concern for 98% of the people in the hobby. I'm sure it could become an issue if you were using them in a public place for educational purposes or setting up an expo, something along those lines, but that's most likely about it.Does that make your blood boil mate, or do you see the common sense in the law? I don't know but here's an insider trick for you straight from 'old world' Italy. Is it illegal to have Ts as pets in Kentucky?
The only time I have heard any of the venomous snake laws quoted is when a guy got bite and was hospitalized. If your T got out and bit someone or something like that it might come into play. Otherwise it's usually not enforced or noticed. Can't answer for @Thistles, but county laws regarding things like this are rarely enforced so it's pretty much not a concern for 98% of the people in the hobby. It's beyond stupid. I know a lot of people who ignore the law. It matters for pet stores, though.Does that make your blood boil mate, or do you see the common sense in the law? Just wondering what your take on the whole situation is?
