True, but you must admit it looks pretty cool with those setups. Well IMO they do. :D I would love a big tank with a water area with fishes in it. But i dont have the room for that :( It looks awesome when they go diving after fish. :)
I'd like to see that. In a picture. From a distance. :smug:

:vomit:Haven`t thought of that, well I`m just happy that i dont have room for that:yuck: hehe :D
Yeah, cold blood is right, that mentioned by him is one of the reasons why I don't like those kind of "pool" enclosures for genus Hysterocrates :)

They aren't that bad as Theraphosidae for being African 'Baboons' :)

I can 100% guarantee that my Hysterocrates gigas is very shy and scared by everything, poor baby :embarrassed:

She seems to love just sitting in the water, the water is crystal clear, I think the brown is a reflection from the gravel with the camera.
Also think i need to bob in a 2nd sinky log in the middle she can hide under.

However who knows, Bread, maybe your "bet" will prevail. No matter my opinion about, I wish you good luck :-s

It's a nice paludarium I think.

Keep us posted if your T decides to go in for a swim of any sort. Pics/video of that would be nice.

I can't be the only one that read the thread title and thought "Well, that's a different way to announce a breeding project..." can I?

Yeah, probably I am the only one. Never mind.

;) :D

Shes in the water 90% of the time now, may change when she acclimates to it.
Shes dug a small hole but no burrow yet, but has taken a roach i chucked in the water, flew after it like a speedboat.

She pooped in the corner on the rocks so hopefully thats a trend, ill see what she does with the bolus when shes done.

I'll do a video next time I feed her, right now she poops on the rocks, bolus are in a corner she made udner a plant, she hides under some wood or the plant shes at in the pic.
She has started a burrow, but it's nothing more than a hole right now, substrate goes in a water bowl I banged in there to see if shed poop i it (like a cat) :p

I did have to remove the large corkbark from the right as it kept floating away, Ill replace it with an aquarium sinky wood from the garden centre soon.

Make sure the wood has been baked if put in Viv unless it's bio active :).

Really like this setup, if it goes well are you looking to do something larger? Glass?

All wood sinks eventually.
I believe he's referring to Malaysian driftwood. It sinks right off the shelf bone dry.

@Bread, make sure you get that kind as it is highly mold resistant and doesn't grow a gross slime film like Mopani does in the beginning. Also, it may leach tannins into the water turning it a tea color. The tannins are perfectly safe, they just lower the ph and soften the water.

If you don't want the tannins you can boil the piece of wood or let it soak in a bucket of hot water everyday til it runs clear.

Just checked my gopro footage after I set it up last night, she submerged under water at 8am when i got up. She stayed underwater until 2pm when she came up did a lap of the tank and went down again, then resurfaced at 9.10pm

thats 6hours at a time underwater :) wish I could hold my breath that long :p
