Hello, I am looking into breeding some Ts and wondering if anyone does this and how they advertise or where they sell. I am thinking of calling a few pet stores but some only carry a select few of the docile more popular species! Located in Tallahassee Fl. Do people advertise on here? Or is there a website to do so. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know. I’d like to get an idea of where to unload them before breeding. Thank you!

There is a classifieds section that you can post them in on this website. However, you need "Active Member" status before doing so.

Yes the classifieds on here will be you're best bet, Facebook groups too Ive sold a few on them. If you are successful at breeding, some tarantula retailers may buy them too I've also done that.

How do you become an active member?
You need to be answering people's questions I'm sure it's got to do with the amount of messages you send within a 45 day period, messages in Tarantula chat and stuff don't count it is only informational posts that count. You just got into the hobby though did you not? It can be years before you are successful in getting a sac.

No I’m just getting back into hobby. I have kept for years but the last 7 I haven’t. I have had a successful breeding experience with my rose hair 10+ yeara ago. But lived in a different area and had a friend that bought 90% for his pet store.

Also this will be about a year down the line. But would like to be prepared.

You got time brother. If you stop posting during that time, you will lose the "Active Member" status for a bit, until you post enough to gain it back.

Thank you. I read that it’s like 10 posts in 45 days and it can’t be tarantula chat. It has to be advice helping somebody.

Look at the account upgrades section; you should be able to purchase access to the classified section if you aren't an active member.

you can allways leave a comment on some of the pictures in the gallery

pretty easy to reach the milestone

Doing this will get merged into 1 message as well just so you know. Screenshot_20250217-182927_Chrome.jpg
So that will take away from you're message count. As it will no longer be two messages just the one.

If you read the classified rules it tells you what you can do to post an ad.

You’d have to search but there’s also an explanation as to what types of posts count towards the points system and what constitutes as active (to avoid mass low content posting that would bury good contribution posts……..)

Please read the forum rules.

Do people advertise on here? Or is there a website to do so.
There is only one place on this website that it would be allowed. That would be our Classifieds section, which can be found here:

This is true (although not required).

I am not sure this is accurate. I have not tested it out, but I do not believe comments in the gallery/media section count towards one's post count total.

If you read the classified rules it tells you what you can do to post an ad.
Correct! Here is the link to the rules for the Classifieds section:

For anyone else wondering, if further clarification is still needed, we do have a tutorial on how to use the Classifieds (and what requirements must be met before your ad will be allowed), which can be found here:

Here you go. :)

This is also true. ;)

Please read the forum rules.
Here is a direct link as to where the forum rules (and other valuable information) can be found:

We also have a tutorials section, that many may find helpful. It can be found here:

Feel free to bookmark any of the links that you find useful.

Hope any of this has helped. :)

This is extra info not said yet: you wont sell much. Or enough, to cover your costs.

unless you get a petshop or dealer that will make you a nice cut.

especialy if popular species that is fully on the market: in exemple nhandu color.

you need to assess your goal. And what you want.

if you want to sell individual slings, make a website. Contribute your knowledge on AB and get a good feedback structure.

it doesnt matter your experience, if no one can vouch for it.

classifieds on AB allow you to post what you have to offer.

but if nobody knows you, no one will buy.

take @cold blood. He could say he has slings in classified. He will sell them at his price of choice, because people know he is a person of their word.

i have 300 slings to sell, no matter my experience, no one will buy them.

if i went to my dealer, my best bet would be to trade all my slings for ONE good sling, or maybe a male or something.

im sure you know all this, but since no one brought this up, i felt i could add this.

You need to give back to the community, before you actualy get back, no matter the effort you put in the shadows.

its not me trying to be offensive and all. I just want to give you what i have learned and observed.

even people like Tom Moran, have had bad dealings. Aka, they dealt with bad people, people who were not reliable.

so you need to be reliable. How you prove this is up to you.

if your goal is to breed a rare species, and collect on it, make sure people have trust in you before you go ahead with your plan.

it matters to me, that who i buy from, did their work, at 150%.

If you are breeding and looking to sell the slings in bulk, its best to reach out to the dealers and offer them wholesale.

Later, Tom
