Besides arming you with education you can relay to her-No, no one else from an internet forum can convince your Mom to let you have one.Well i really want to get a rose hair but my mom keeps saying no i asked her why she says its just the creep fator of having one in can you guys help me convince my mom to get me one??
No joke!! These things are very addicting. I bought my first one about 6 months ago. I now have 5 and one on the loose!I had to go through the same exact thing. My mom finally gave in now I can have as many as I want My mom thought that I would just get a ton then forget about them and she woud have to take care of them and she also thought that I would get hundreds and my room would be overrun with them. All I did was state my reasons and then I was free to get as many as I want. Just remember that if you get one you will end up with alot.
You almost always give good advise Daddy DragonYou may have to wait until you move out and get your own place...at that point you'll probably own 100 Ts. There was a slogan that went something like: "Your mother said no, you're grown up, now no one can stop you..."
Some people have serious arachnophobia and no amount of talk from their kids is going to change that. If its just a minor objection here are some selling points:
1. A rosie is cheap to buy and maintain.
2. You can get a cheap enclosure that is escape proof.
3. You understand the hair flicking is more dangerous than the bite, and you know not to get the hairs in your eyes.
4. Throw in something to sweeten the deal: keeping your room clean, mowing the lawn, throwing out the trash, you know what your mom would love for you to do or do better...use it!
Good Luck!
Almost? Who's your daddy? You almost always give good advise Daddy Dragon
Whao thats weird I have 6 also and had to convince my parents ;DI had to convince my mom too. Now I have 6! Just don't whine and nag her about it, usually that brings a definite NO from parents.
I like this. Kinda reminds me of being a kid, same kinda deal. My mom was thankful to have me out exploring/learning than just sitting playing video games all day.My suggestion is to go out in your backyard and find a bug... any bug. Make an enclosure for it and take care of it. Learn about it and then tell your mom what you have learned-don't ask for a spider just yet. OK, now
after a little time has pasted, go out and do it again. What you are doing is: 1. showing her you are responsible. 2. showing her your learning about the world around you. 3. You have to break down the fear factor slowly. If you can get this far eventually it will happen. Good luck.
