The real Scopelobates sericeus (ex Holothele sericea) isn't available in the hobby.

The species sold in the hobby under that name should be labelled Holothele sp. "Dominican Republic".

Birupes simoroxigorum hasn't made it to the US hobby yet. It is currently in the European hobby, don't know about the Asian hobby.

@Predacons5, I believe it has actually, but it is still being sold under it's old name (Selenocosmia sp. "Biru").

Thanks,

Anyway, what I would like to also see is a list of the species on the European front of the hobby so that I can drool over it :D.

Thanks,

also, I didn't include all of the suggestions, because I made sure that I researched each one to make sure that they were indeed in the U.S. so a few didn't get included.

Neischnocolus is now the senior synonym of Ami.
I've seen Aphonopelma johnnycashi and Aphonopelma steindachneri available though they're rarely offered
Phlogiellus sp. Palawan is now Phlogiellus johnreylazoi
I thought Poecilotheria metallica was missing but it's just misspelled (you have Peo-)

just curiously digging up some old but still relevant threads -
kind of an old list, just even 6 months later as the naming and reclassification of many lineages makes a list like this obsolete. I don't think the op realized what a massive undertaking it is to compile a complete list of sp. even somewhat "available" in the U.S.
I glanced at it, noticed P. parvula isn't there but a pair recently were sold by FNT and there used to be some you could grab up a few years ago.
I'm guessing the majority of uncommon T's go to non-breeders for their entire lifespan, so in 10 or 15 years, an entire sp. could be non-existant here. Phrixotrichus scrofa (ex. Paraphysa scrofa), and the P. scrofa sp. "North Bronze" I had imported from Todd Gearhart and later bred, are now quite a rarity, and I'd say not available. maybe in a few years...

what exactly does available mean? Isn't it more to the point saying some # of animals known to exist in private collections?

edit: Euathlus parvulus (ex. P. parvula) see, even a day or hours to the person editing, compiling or researching can cause confusion. see how messed up tarantula taxonomy is? haha
