I just thought I'd share my new Black Widow!

It's pretty unlikely that a healthy adult would actually die from a black widow bite, but it could make you pretty sick. In many ways, pet dogs are much more dangerous. However, I don't keep any medically significant spiders. I prefer not to worry about what would happen if one of my spiders bit me.

P.S. It's nice to find another Legacy of Kain fan! (I recognize the tattoo.)
I'd go a step further then unlikely, I dont think there are any records of a healthy adult dying from a widow, they just simply don't have the virulence in their venom. Worst case scenario for a healthy adult is some long term neurological damage.

*not saying you should pick up and play with venomous critters, just saying they are not as bad as everyone perceives them to be... they are quite docile, a few members have posted pics / vids of them handling widows.
I love how the reflections either look like eyes or are eyes.

I've read their venom is 15x more toxic than most rattlesnakes, however they are unable to inject enough of it for it to be as bad or worse than a rattlesnakes.

I'd just like to share that my sweet little girl just molted for the first time in my care!! I will try to post pics tomorrow. It's difficult for me to get pictures of her without completely destroying her webbing or chancing an escape. I did take a few sub par pics but hopefully they will good enough to see both the new girl with her fixed leg and the exuvia.
