Man what dropped my jaw was the tree he pulled it from.. That murinus is living like a pokie! That is one chill baboon. I nearly had a heart attack every time he cupped his hand right in front of it!
Great find!
Possibly the vibration from vehicle's on that "road" was enough to cause them to seek out a place higher up that they perceived as a little safer..I don't know the area but perhaps being in a tree was a better route than digging a burrow. Certainly prevents them from being stepped on, potentially crushed etc.

theres tons of black tarantulas, but ive yet to see another bright orange T. (besides Hapactira)Off topic a little but is the black morph ever available? I think it's much more stunning than the gold variety..
Joe Rossi was selling them about a month ago, if I remember correctly. Very rare.Off topic a little but is the black morph ever available? I think it's much more stunning than the gold variety..

I bet they had a price that matched their availability as well...Joe Rossi was selling them about a month ago, if I remember correctly. Very rare.
$75 if I remember correctly, for a sling.I bet they had a price that matched their availability as well...

That's not bad at all..$75 if I remember correctly, for a sling.
I'd pay that for one of these without hesitation. I agree, I like their coloring far more than the orange form. Reminds me of P. chordatus! That's not bad at all..
What form/locality is that? I have never seen one for sale.. Doesn't mean we don't though..Speaking of P.murinus, do you guys in the U.S have those morph easily in the trade?
