Wedge that moss inn there at the top...you want the ground to be relatively clear so feeders don't have hiding places. That will also leave it some cover up top where it will want to live and web until you can get some plants.is this temp home suitable for her until tomorrow?
yeah here, I used a 5050 mixed sub for firmnessCan you shoot a different angle a side shot maybe but looks good from the top but can’t quite tell.
Ok yes this will work till tomorrow, give her more height, to climb move the moss wedge it up, other than that she’ll love the ninja gaiden? Figureyeah here, I used a 5050 mixed sub for firmness
and since its been approved it was a pet smart, I was just there for supplies cause it was right next to the grocery store where I was getting some food. wasn't expecting to get an animal.
Damn, that’s really sad, and another example of why I shop only online for my T’s...Whenever I go to the pet store for cork bark or whatever, I won't let my self go into the live animal section. Not after the purple vampire crab incident (I saw them, went home and did my research, came back and bought all six - all but one were dead by the end of the month - chain pet store animals, never again)
that's the saddest origin story i've heard. but yeah I will probably never go back to a large chain pet store again, not like I dont know how to care for my T but just better not to support their economy. at least I dont have to actually interact with people now.Damn, that’s really sad, and another example of why I shop only online for my T’s...
I remember back in 93’ maybe 94’ i went to a PetSmart with my mom... man so many emotions were going through me that day, seeing those sad Kitties, and puppies, rabbits... then there it was a Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens, at the time it was called a Eurypelma Cyaneopubescens if I remember correctly.
That’s when I fell in love with Tarantulas but of course Mother said no not in my house.
Unfortunately, in my area chain pet stores are the only place I can get cork bark and other terrarium supplies. I have ordered cork bark from Amazon in the past, but I prefer to see what I'm buying.but yeah I will probably never go back to a large chain pet store again, not like I dont know how to care for my T but just better not to support their economy. at least I dont have to actually interact with people now.
You can’t order from a tropic shop online??? I wouldn’t support their BS at all manUnfortunately, in my area chain pet stores are the only place I can get cork bark and other terrarium supplies. I have ordered cork bark from Amazon in the past, but I prefer to see what I'm buying.
Hahaha yea, I will never support them ever, unfortunately there are people that have to shop there or just doesn’t know that you can buy online.that's the saddest origin story i've heard. but yeah I will probably never go back to a large chain pet store again, not like I dont know how to care for my T but just better not to support their economy. at least I dont have to actually interact with people now.
I went into a chain pet store a couple of weeks ago to look for cork bark, it's not one of the huge chains so they rarely have live animals, they mainly sell pet supplies. This time however they had about 40 betta fish in tiny cups on a shelf. It was all I could do not to rescue a couple of them, I doubt if they lived through the week. I've kept bettas in the past, so maybe I can help you feel better about them. They are air breathers and very hardy. In fact the wild versions live in swamps and even polluted roadside ditches, so water quality means very little to them. I fact I had one in a goldfish bowl that got cracked, so I kept it a 12 oz solo cup for a month with no problems until I could get a new bowl. This time however they had about 40 betta fish in tiny cups on a shelf. I've kept and bred bettas and other labyrinth fish in the past when I was in the tropical fish hobby, these were in 4 oz cups with about 1/8" headspace and solid lids. Most of them looked unhealthy. I mentioned it to the girl working, she didn't really seem to care.I've kept bettas in the past, so maybe I can help you feel better about them. They are air breathers and very hardy. Yeah that's a different story, they definitely need access to fresh air. Just another reason to avoid the live animal areas in chain pet stores - you end up feeling bad and wanting to rescue 3/4 of the animals.I've kept and bred bettas and other labyrinth fish in the past when I was in the tropical fish hobby, these were in 4 oz cups with about 1/8" headspace and solid lids.
