Are the ants inside your tarantula enclosures? I know some folks in high ant areas have used water basins to prevent them from crawling up inside

Have you tried searching through this website? This topic has definitely been discussed several times over. The answers are literally right at your fingertips. ;)

All I did was type the word "ants" in the search window (magnifying glass icon at the top right, on a desktop) and changed the drop down menu from "everywhere" to "this forum", and then clicked on the checkbox for "search titles only". Voila!

Here are some threads to help get you started:

Good luck!

I have also heard that Vaseline works too. Of course, getting rid of the colony is the ideal solution, if possible. :)

start with placing ant traps purchased at any hardware store along the pathway.
Yes and no. Not all work, from my first hand experience. I have personally found Terro to be the absolute best, with 100% positive results. Finding the source of entry into the home is the key (or at least as close to, as possible). What I love about Terro is that it is a bait, not necessarily a trap. You do not want to trap the ants, as a trap can only hold so many. The bait is better, as it will have the workers bring the poisoned bait back to the Queen. Which in turn destroys the entire colony.

See the links, that I provided above, for more detailed information. :)

Ant bait cups work best, also a flip flop. One time I had ants near my spider enclosures and I put everyone on the table before going back to the shelf and wacking it like crazy. It worked fairly well, but the cups kill them faster.

Hmmm this is not what I would expect to be a big issue in Atlantic City. Where did you get your substrate. I’m wondering if you brought them in through that means. But I’d just put ant traps down to prevent them from entering your room with them in in the first place

Those home remedies you are using don’t get rid of ants 🤣, mild deterrents

They have found a food source or water, something has their interest.

Only water I have in my room is my tarantulas water dishes and there is literally no other water source in my room. No food nothing

I’m not talking about quality soils, that’s all just a marketing ploy to get folks to spend more money. I don’t use any of those. Peat/coco-fiber/100% top soil or any combo of those is perfectly fine.
