How big is this spider?

Nope, just interested in just how big a female GBB can get.

An avid hobbiest would gladly show off a larger than usual spider, to others in the hobby. Some critism is expected, but a discussion with people who currently own big females of this species would be prefered. It also allows others the ability to see what that sling may be become.
Ok cool.

Nice spider :)

There are these things we call 'exceptions to the rule'.

That's cool if she's really that big, but it certainly doesn't mean they all can get that big.
I don't think he is trying to say every CBB will get this big!

Just trying to show its possable, and share what he has idk why you got to be a negitive nancy all the time!

So... Can we see that measured molt then?
I'd like to see it if it's that big!

Since you're in Canada, and B. dubia are illegal there, you may want to reconsider posting that picture.
You have a video with roaches Joe :D :D :D and You live in Florida...:D :D
Ya knooooow :D

im siding with hobo.. i wanna c the actual measured molt... with everybody bickering like lil girls over the size of a SPIDER it makes me curious.. its alot like the price is right... who can get the closest without goin over.... also xhexdx? is right.. even if your gbb is bigger than average cool... its "THE EXCEPTION" i personally think a gbb would look sick if it got the size of a parahybana:D

maybe the dubia had a growth deficiency making the ggb look big. My guess is that ggb is in the 5-6" range.

Be as critical as needed, this is her October 4/10. moult. (above)

Depending on how the legs are measured (straightened or natural).

Previous moult October 7/09. was measured at 5 1/2", I estimate the most recent moult October 4/10. at 6". My guess, 6 1/2" + as she eats well.

I wish I could have been around to get a photo of her after moult stretch.

As this is the first time raising this species, I was curious, and honestly expected someone to post a photo of one larger.

Certainly one of my favorites.

I'm curious, other GBB owners please.

What's the average size of a mature female?
Will she moult again? or is she doomed from a final moult?

It was my understanding that females will moult throughout their adult lives. Of course, I do not know enough to know about any exceptions.

My GBB is currently 3.25", so no monster, but certainly a beaut!

Thanks for posting!
