Meet "Flash".

No trick photography, anyone familiar with the prey she is about to consume should be able make a good guess.

Uh...

C. cyaneopubescens.

That spider's about 5", imo.

To the OP:

Since you're in Canada, and B. dubia are illegal there, you may want to reconsider posting that picture.

Critics/douchbags everywhere?

After seeing the critics judge Robc blondie, I thought perhaps the size of this spider could be open for public discussion.

A photo of last moult can verify size.

Not sure what exactly you're trying to say.

But since you like to make mention of critics, I figure I should let you know that it's spelled 'blondi', not 'blondie'.

5" to 6" ...pretty standard for an adult GBB.
Cool spider none the less.

Is this the same GBB that you advertised for sale for $450 that grew from 5" to a whopping, incredible, unfathomable 7" over a two week period?

One would think, people in this hobby would be more interested in proof than to criticize the possiblitity of larger than usual spider of a certain species.

Anyone who has kept a large female GBB or C. cyaneopubscens in a large display tank would know obtaining an accurate sizing of these spiders itself is difficult.

My reason for this this thread was to hopefully discuss with other hobbiests about how big this species can really get. A previous thread provided some very negative comments from some, the very same in this thread.

I can provide a photo of her last moult for those interested in joining this thread with the intentions of finding out how big this species can really get.

No trick photography, one will have to accept legs are not perfectly straight, and some shinkage may have occured.

Great, then with all the "wanna-be pro's" in this hobby, let's all come to a reasonable large spider sizing medium we can all agree on.

Why is this such a big deal in the first place?

Are you jockying for position as another "wanna-be-pro"?

I'm honestly curious.

I'm fairly new here, but the way you write and what you are writing is not exactly endearing you to me either.

I can care less how big your spider is. You're coming off like an arrogant jerk who is spoiling for a fight with other people exactly like you.

Please tone it down. Nothing good can come of this thread- seriously.

This site already has more angst than I feel is truly necessary.

Nope, just interested in just how big a female GBB can get.

An avid hobbiest would gladly show off a larger than usual spider, to others in the hobby. Some critism is expected, but a discussion with people who currently own big females of this species would be prefered. It also allows others the ability to see what that sling may be become.

There are these things we call 'exceptions to the rule'.

That's cool if she's really that big, but it certainly doesn't mean they all can get that big.
