Looks female to me too.
It also looks fat, so you may get a chance to confirm via molt sometime soon!

100% female guaranteed.whoever said you cant ever be accurate with a pic, never saw this one

100% Guaranteed, huh? So you'll be buying the spider back from him if you're wrong, even though you didn't sell it?

I think it looks female as well but i'm not issuing any "guarantees". ;P

Exactly. Guarantee a sex via ventral and by a picture, is as accurate as a gum made ruler.

Guarantee the sex of a tarantula via ventral and by a picture over the net is not my definition of accurate.
I dont guarantee 100% anything that I cant be 100% sure of.

The colours , the bright, the light...The shadows of a picture can scream you one thing, and then it turns out you were wrong.
Even the specific form of the tarantula setae can fool you too.
It could get really clear, but not 100%.

I have to agree that you can't ventrally sex 100% accurately. I posted a ventral pic a while back of my B. albopilosum and everyone, including myself, thought it was male. Well, SHE just molted.....and she's definietly 100% a she now!! :D

Sorry but this one is very obvious. I also would send over a P. metallica if I was wrong here. It's 100% guaranteed female. Not even a remote chance of it being male.

And the people that told you male on your albo were tired or smoking something or guessing because that looks 100% female to me too, as well as your smithi.

Scientific? I can do that. :)

There is no patch of hairs above the furrow that a male would have and would easily seen.

In the photos I linked you can see that patch of hairs I am talking about. They are most typically circle shaped to a degree and parked right between the upper pair of book lungs and above the epigastric furrow.

Additionally you can see how the epigastric furrow of the female in this picture is wide and straight across between the book lungs.

The male has a closed off furrow that is limited to just the center area in addition to the hairs present above the furrow.

Here are a few examples of a male.
