Im confused about that too, my mac is grey, no brown at all, very strange... but i have heard that males are browner than females. I compare mine to having the color of a P. regalis.

Coloration is a big factor in determining the sex of this species, but only if they are mature.

Wow, that's an awesome coloration on that female! Mine is much more brown...

Mine has built a webbed retreat inside my half plantpot hide I made. There's no way I'll be disturbing her unless its for a good reason now! :8o

Be warey if it is a male. his is the only species that I've had were the males were exceptionaly visious ans will actually chase you if you let them out the tank. Do not ever handle it as the male will bite.

The female to me seam layed back but a mile will take a chunk out of a piece of wood given the chance I woner why that is.

Personally i wouldn't like to say what sex the spider is as coling by colours is not very accurate and the venteral shot is not exactly a clear picture now is it. so come on people

dont worry G I didn't buy this one for handling. Thankfully this one does actually seem quite shy and only comes out its web at night. Otherwise I can change water etc without it moving from its hide. :)

Botar sent me a fuzzy little male for my big ole female. I noticed she was actively trying to eat the poor fellow about a month after he started co-habitating so I took him out. About 2 weeks later she made an impressive egg sack (hammack)
This is the best pic I could get as I didnt want to pester her too much.

Enjoy!

Any updates on the sack Michelle?
All still looks good!! Mommy is still diligently guarding the sack. The 20th will be aproximately 30 days. Im gunna wait til I see a few legs sticking out then remove the mom and get the babies out that way. She has the hammock secured pretty tightly to the side of the tank. I check a lot. So far so good. Thanks for asking :D
