Venom, poison or toxin – what is the difference?
A toxin is a non-specific term that describes any substance harmful to living cells.
It is venom when it is injected by fin spines or a fang-like tooth through the skin.
It is a poison when it is ingested.
You are right, both venom and poisons are toxins. However, as your definitions do state, the terms do convey information about the delivery of the toxin. It is a symantic issue, but valid none the less.

maybe it's just the quality of the Pic, but I don't think it looks like a G.Rosa. I thinkit kinda resembles a P.Cancerides. Is it aggressive?

How long have you been exposed? My G. rosea does not seem to bother me too much, but I have found that I am more sensitive to my Brachy's hair the longer that I have them. Others have stated the same thing as well. There was a thread about this not too long ago. My G. rosea is a fairly new addition to my collection, so perhaps I have not had it long enough to become sensitive to its hair. I guess time will tell.

Based on the first pic that shows hairs kicked off but no clear “mirror patch” and the second set showing the marking on the caput (head section) I don’t see how every one is getting G.rosea :? lt looks more like a Phormictopus.sp to me maybe P.cancerides.

Yes, I don't see the mirror patch now that it has been mentioned. However, the quality of the image is not the greatest and it was showing up very dark on my screen. There was very little detail in the abdoman.

It's not a Chilian Rose. Looks like one and these are commonly mistaken as Chilian Roses. They are a close relative called a Dwarf Rose. I do not remember the scientific name. I had one that I bought as a Chilian Rose, but oddly found some differences and she never got to the size a female Chilian Rose would get. I took her to a breeder who confirmed my suspicions of this being a different species. Notice the coloring pattern on the back. Chilian Roses generally have a uniformed coloring on their back. The Dwarfs have a dark patch. The dwarfs also appear to have a richer rusty red ground color than Chilians who sport more of a rosey pink hue on the carapace and a lighter ground color.

it doesn't look like a dwarf rose to me, i had a p. scrofa (aka dwarf rose, aka. chilen copper) and he was a bright copper color, of course the females are not as brightly colored as the males i heard and a bit more feisty then a g.rosea (even if i heard of some g.roseas being real defensive).
but of course i am not to good in identifying ...

My first reaction was that it looks like P. cancerides. If you bought it from a pet store, it might help to know what they called it, even though common names aren't always helpful. I wouldn't worry about it jumping, even if they did I don't think a spider of that structure would get very far in an attempt.

How big is it? My first thought was a P. cancerides - I have one and it seems like it could be one or something close. Hard to tell based on those pictures though. P. cancerides are usually defensive.

I'll venture a guess:

Phormictopus cancerides in the first pic and Grammostola rosea in the second.

hey if you had just gotten these a day ago or so there really shouldnt be a reason to be cleaning its cage...all your doing is stressing it out ..just leave it alone and let it settle for a few weeks just make sure you give it fresh water and some food once a week or so ...too much stress aint good for it ..
