You are right, both venom and poisons are toxins. However, as your definitions do state, the terms do convey information about the delivery of the toxin. It is a symantic issue, but valid none the less.ChrisNCT said:Venom, poison or toxin – what is the difference?
A toxin is a non-specific term that describes any substance harmful to living cells.
It is venom when it is injected by fin spines or a fang-like tooth through the skin.
It is a poison when it is ingested.
