Just a few hours ago, I was opening the back door and I saw a spider that was one of the biggest I've seen outside/in the wild. Since it's getting cold outside, I captured it. It's currently in a small kritter keeper. I think I've identified it as Araneus diadematus. It's a large female and it looks absolutely awesome. In case anyone was wondering it was found in southern Ontario, Canada. Is there anything I should know about keeping this species? Any special care requirements?
