Size question

We have some female E. Sp. Red/flame and were wondering from those who have had breeding success, how big do they need to be to start breeding? We know they are not a very big species, but I've had a fairly big one before, and the ones I have now are not that big, maybe 2-2.75 inches or so. Any advice? I gues at any rate, we need to be looking for a male in the very near future. Any help would be much appreciated.
