Typhochlaena seladonia. These come from Brazil though, whom claims all tarantulas in the hobby native to Brazil have been illegally smuggled.

Avicularia minatrix, one I've been meaning to pick up for a while now. Hope I see some at an expo this weekend!

Avicularia is not a dwarf species. Minatrix is just small for avicularia. Im trying to see if there are true arboreal dwarfs.

Avicularia minatrix females max out at 3 inches. I'm not sure what you define as a dwarf but that's a dwarf to me.

Yes but they are not considered a dwarf species right? I could be wrong but, I have never seen Avicularia considered to be a dwarf species.

I've always heard them called a dwarf species, to my knowledge there is no formal definition for a "dwarf species" given its just hobby terminology.

I can go with that, i never looked at them as a dwarf because they are Avics and all the others are larger. I guess its minatrix for the dwarf.

"Dwarf" is kind of arbitrary and it depends who you ask. @Chris LXXIX for example, would say anything under 6" DLS is a dwarf and therefore not a real tarantula, whereas others are more forgiving and will say under 4", under 3.5", etc.. 3" DLS is quite small for a tarantula and would probably qualify as a dwarf species based on the definition of most people.

Outside Typochlaena and A. minatrix I can't think of any arboreals that are in that size range, personally.

Minitrix is most certainly a dwarf species.....theyre little buggers.

Avicularia is not a dwarf species.
The Avicularia genus;)...the species minitrix within that genus, would be a dwarf.

It is odd though to have a lone dwarf in a large genus, so I see what you mean.

Yes, A minatrix comes to mind! 15 years ago they where very populair here, but i never hear anything about them anymore! One of the coolest Avics i'd say! Reminds me of a Humblebee!

Mae Hong son and Laos aren't typical arboreals, correct? They're just very adaptable, like the P murinus, and if you could set them up as arboreals if you felt like it.
