This is the classic argument, "Oh theyll be sold to somebody, why dont I just buy them?" Without your demand as well as everyone else's, they wouldnt be getting smuggled. Its a terrible arguement, you are directly supporting smugglers, and then acting as if you are doing the hobby a favor by not allowing "some random" to obtain them. Its a terrible practice, I do not understand why you cannot see this. The blood most certainly is on your hands.why? All my specimens get sold off to breeders at some point, is this not a better outcome than joe schmoe receiving them?
As would i In a scenario where i acquire one, it's not like im smuggling these out of the country myself. Since you're American it's likely that a good portion of your collection is illegal based off of the implications of the lacey act.
Your argument is that by buying a known smuggled species that i'm somehow causing more of them to be smuggled, as if they havent already been smuggled? How many Nhandu tripeppi are currently being smuggled stolen from nature?
I do not understand what you are stating here, my collection is legally obtained, the new lacey act has not passed, and so far would only ban interstate travel.
That is exactly my argument. You are creating demand. You are causing them to be smuggled. Not you entirely, but you nonetheless.
