If money was no object what would you get?

I personally already own my dream tarantula, but if I could get another one - I would get a Typhochlaena seladonia.

But alas, I would have to sell my firstborn and of course, there's that teeny-tiny issue of them being illegal here in the US...

maybe my memory is off, but I'm pretty sure.

I'm sure if money is no object you can find ways around that too. Sadly many earth tiger species are banned for me and some of them are the ones I would love to have.

If I could have any tarantula, it would be an unlimited supply of males that are hard to come by. But if I had to choose a species, maybe Poecilotheria rajaei or anything in Chile.

I would like a facility for invert and tarantula breeding projects because that would be cool, but that's like only 1% of all tarantula breeders will get to that level. I can dream though.

Since when have T. seladonia been illegal here in the us? If so I wasnt aware. Also theyre not THAT expensive, seen some for sale for a few hundered bucks in the US.

Sericopelma sp. Santa Catalina and Aphonopelma mooreae (the "believe us, it's real" T). And probably about 200 others that I won't list here :p.

I've recently had the opportunity to get tons of P. vulpinus slings but given their track record with being kept in captivity, I declined

If money and I'll throw this one in...time, we're not an object I would get:

Dogs
champion bloodline female Samoyed, female Akita Inu, female long coat German Shepard, (not all at same time due to the Akita)

Reptiles & Snakes
Ball python, Sand Boa, Tegu, (doesn't matter which one, most expensive one though) Monkey Tailed Skink

Tarantulas
Adult female G. pulchra, Adult female Aphonopelma mooreae, sub-adult female Phormingochilus arboricola, adult female P. solaris

This is just off the top of my head recovering from the flu or covid whichever it is because the list is much bigger.

I feel like quite a few rare sp. are becoming quite available at this time. I have seen several well known breeders offer rare Euathlus, homoeomma, and Phrixotrichus sp. Aphonopelma mooreae which used to be like a fabled mith a year ago has become quite prevalent. You can get your hands on these sp. as long as you have the cash but as said earlier some of these species seem to not thrive in captivity. The diversity of tarantula species in this world is mind blowing and overwhelming. In this hobby we have only had a fraction of a taste of the enormous world of tarantulas. A common example would be some genuses well known throughout the hobby acanthoscurria, aphonopelma, grammastola, lasiadora, hapolopus, cyriocosmus. I encourage everyone to head over to the world spider catalog and check out these genuses. Not only is there a tremendous amount of other species in genuses we thought we knew there is also numerous genuses that I would not even know existed if I had never been introduced to wsc. This hobby is simply an infant that has just learned to walk and is no where near adulthood. I would like all to appreciate the diversity of species that the tarantula world has to offer and I hope you are amazed as I was with the sheer mass and beauty of these incredible creatures.

Curious, why adults if time is not an issue though? I personally enjoy slings over adults.

Haha that's easy....they will outlive me so want to get adults. If I get slings which I can do now I will not live to see the G. pulchra and Aphonopelma mooreae as adults.

Time...that would be time to spend with all my animals instead of at work. Money is no object so in my dream world I hit a 1 trillion lotto never having to work again. Except maybe for investing.

Hmmm, I pretty much have all the ones I want, so I’d take my money and buy a Tarantula Truck (think ice cream truck), drive around the country and make peoples dreams come true.

I like the way you think.

What musical chime will your truck have?
