No spid makes a good "pet"
Sorry but that's the truth.
If you want a good "pet"....get a dog.

I think all you did, was get an accurate gauge of how well she would defend herself when she thought her well being was in danger.
Looks like a VERY stressed out T :(

Get her into a nice enclosure, and leave her be for a bit.. I bet she calms down atleast a little :)

since its obvious you have access to youtube you need to check out robc's tutorials, youll never get bashed again.
next time a t bites your stick let it be, picking that stick up you could of harmed the T.

Very interesting you should point that out;

Comes in from the face, uses a stick, and even lifts her after she has bitten down on it. All three of which methods, I have been scolded for, he just did.

Because he's pulling the egg sac. Not the same as trying to maneuver a tarantula into a temporary container. Ts do not want to let go of their sacs and will defend it very stubbornly.

Also could explain why the T is aggressive. She may be overly stressed from constant prodding.
Im with this. When I got my first tarantula from a pet store "rosie" she was angry as hell. So vicious putting up threat poses for everything. Im sure she was never left alone or treated properly in the pet store. I had no idea how to care for her either to make it worse.

I havent seen a threat pose or any vicious activity for her in over a year now. I only had her about a year and a half. I can put my hand right in front of her in the tank and she will just gently put her legs on my hand to see what I am. No intentions of attacking.

If you treat her properly and give her time I bet she will calm down.

Are you sure that rosea is female? As "it" looks quite male to me, long legs and the shiny pink carapace... looks just like all my male rosea did before they "hooked out" .... One that I had bought I was positive was a female ... until it finally molted in my care .... and there were hooks

I'm sorry, could you please try to explain the difference between the two in a way that is actually valid?

EDIT: Ok, let me clarify a little bit here.

I have not actually watched the video. Here is the message chain I'm responding to:

Hopefully that clears things up.

{D Okay, well as ridiculous as these comments are getting, I firmly believe that my attempt to move my T was completely harmless I've seen the same methods used by people whom you guys respect, and again, I was not antagonizing her, I was not being cruel or doing anything insanely stupid like grabbing her with tongs or by the legs or throwing a cup over her head. The only thing I would have done differently here was change the cup, which I did after the vid.

I dont think what you did was totally out of place and changing the cup was a good idea

The person I got her from said she owned her for 2 years, after her previous owner had her for 3. I don't completely trust her word now lol, but she looks to be an adult size and I saw no hooks. :) She does have a very pretty pink, I had my fingers crossed for that lol.

This comment on youtube pretty much says is all....

How exactly does tapping her in the face get her to move to the jar.... you have alot to learn. Put the jar over her slowly then use a flat peice of card board to scoop under it and it would have been ALOT easier rather than just harassing a new obviously stressed T."

You should never put cups over T's, you can pinch legs beneath the cup, it's far more risky than tapping her, which is allowing her the freedom to move away on her own. Does TGuy put cups on his T's? No. He prods them into the cup. You guys are starting to worry me. :?

You are quite obviously clueless. I don't give a rats butt what TGuy does or does not do. Cupping T's is absolutely harmless when done correctly. Your video demonstrated 110% of what not to do. I have no idea who TGuy is, but if he suggests using this method he is all but worthless.

Firstly, where are you going to find a cup large enough to put over a fully grown T? Ask anyone in this forum if it's a good idea to put a cup over the T. If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

Second, your accusations are what they call flaming and not only is it extremely rude, it is against the rules.
