Welcome to AB,
and yes, you chose the right forum for your question.

I don't have the species so i can't give you any specific information, but i am sure someone will.

Good luck with your pairing.

Did you check the breeding reports here?

btw it’s not obvious you did any research, not saying you didn’t, but it’s not obvious at all, not one bit.

Nice boa!

Interestingly enough, no post in old / new breeding report about Davus pentaloris in Arachnoboards.

I’ve also searched for:
  • Davus pentaloris breed / breeding
  • Davus pentaloris pair / pairing
  • Davus pentaloris mate / mating
  • Davus pentaloris egg / egg sac
  • Davus pentaloris EWL
Not a single post.

This almost makes me to get a few slings of Davus pentaloris for a breeding attempts.

Hopefully other keepers / breeders will chime in to give you some insights / helps.

Any informations? @l4nsky @Tarantuland @JoeRossi @Marcostaco

i just couldn’t find breeding reports for pentaloris specifically. i spent like 30 minutes looking. i’ve done months of research on other species but there’s barely anything for pentaloris and id prefer to be as prepared as possible. nothing beats experience, not even research.

I recall years ago they were difficult to breed. I don’t recall why, nor how widespread that view is held.
I mentioned research because if you found someone here you could reach out.

You should reach out to Martin at TCan. He may be able to shed light on this.

This is probably the good reason why I could not find a single post about it.

Nevertheless, you would probably get the slightest ideas how to go about it.

Nothing personally, but I've asked a couple of breeders and the general consensus is that it's because of the species confusion as mentioned above

I will have a breeding report on mine some time later this year. Honestly, could have been the easiest pairing I have ever done as far as tarantulas go. When they were done I lightly touched my females leg with a brush and she went right back to her hide and he waltzed out like a champion.

Bear in mind that the Davus pentaloris we have in the hobby is who knows what species actually. There's probably 12-13 different species in that one bag of a name, source: https://academic.oup.com/zoolinnean/article/192/1/75/5923817

Here's some breeding reports (in Polish, but likely easy to translate with web tools) for C. fasciatum:
