Haplopelma hainanum adult female

Haplopelma hainanum young female

Haplopelma schmidti adult female

Haplopelma schmidti & Haplopelma hainanum
Wow! Absolutely MAGNIFICENT! They are some of the most beautiful specimens I have ever seen, in your experience, do the hainanums carapace darken with age? I have a female like your juvenile with a rather light carapace, the jet black one you have there is breath taking

She was sold at a show as "Thai Tiger - H. longipes"
At the time I wasn't really up on Haplos or I would have corrected the vendor...

Anyway, I rehoused her and it made for a great photo op. Plus bonus drinking!

This is my hainanum its not quite 2 inches i call it possum because when i unpacked it she (dont know that for sure waiting on a molt) was on her back thought maybe she was molting so i put her in her cage and she took off like a bolt of lightning

Cyriopagopus sp. Sumatran Tiger, Finally managed to get something I've been after for ages, Chris at Exotic-pets had a pair of juvies so I picked them up from the Newark Invert show. Really looking forward to watching these grow.

Hey guys, I've recently acquired a 3/4" Haplopelma Lividum and would appreciate any pointers or help. I've read that being an Old World species they require a high humidity and temperature, also I've read that the right behavior for these T's is to Burrow and rarely come out of it's hide. When I purchased the T. It was housed in a small deli container with some vermiculite, i transferred it over to a small critter keeper with a mixture of vermiculite and Cocofiber , it's been a little more than a week and yet it still has yet to make it's burrow, so i thought perhaps the substrate might be too moist and swapped it out with pure Cocofiber hoping that would make it comfortable
But now it seems she's climbed all the way to the top of it's home and resides on the corner. I'm beginning to get a little worried, i hear this species can die if not taken care of properly, thanks again guys, i hope to find a answer to this conundrum
