Martin, why did you have the C.elegans and the T.blondi together? Trying a little cross breeding ;) Or is there some some degree of sacrifice that is required in breeding certain species?

I just wanted to take this picture for a while...

Do not worry I was monitoring the situation very closely... but the C. elegans is so small, I do not even think that the T. blondi was noticing anything... to be honest, the reason he kicked hair was probably because of me when I was lifting the cup covering the C. elegans!

Wow. What kind of temperment do those C. Elegans have? They seem pretty nice from the looks of them. Any dealers online with em??

Cigarman, they are shy and nervous animals... almost always hidden...

Female ate eggsac #3... here is eggsac #4... looking very nice, I think it is a big one...

Another female double clutched... looking forward to see if it will be any good...

>>Great breeding attempt.By the looks of the female's abdomen you'll have a sack in no time. She's huge.I'd say within a couple weeks for sure...maybe sooner.Good luck and keep us posted.

C. elegans mating!

I paired up my Cyriocosmus elegans this morning. The mating went very well and they staid together for quite a long time!! Here's a few pics!

Wish me luck!!

Wow thats a really cool! Micro-nookie. I cant imagine trying to find a screen fine enough to keep the babies in their cups. Definitely a good spider for those with little space to keep em in... :)

Yes they are small, but they are incredible feeders!! Some of the most intense feeders I've ever seen!

I really hope to get a sac!

C. elegans eggsac!

I just checked in on my female C. elegans that I bred about 2 months ago (See the pics a few posts back). She's completly sealed herself off but I was able to shine a light from underneath her enclosure and there is an eggsac!!!

This is the first eggsac in U.S. I believe. There's no way to get pics at this point without disturbing her too much, but I'll take them when I get the chance.

The mature male has been down in Florida with Bryan (TheEternal) for the past month with his female. Hopefully that will be fruitful as well.

Unfortunately, no such luck with me. Ten attempts tried. My female is showing no interest in him. :( He's *SO* eager, too!

I'm going to try a few more times, but I'm starting to feel it's not going to happen.

GoTerps,

I just purchased a what i could guess is a "sub adult", elegens (sure of the sp.) from my good pal Chris at Krazy8's. He mentioned you were the man with the info on these little gems. My little guy/girl measures in at around 3/4" at the moment. Any idea when/at what size these guys mature? It seems too small to sex effectively atm, got any pointers in this department? Also, at what size will it become a he, if its a he, anyone know? Also, how big do they get..and could mine be a mature female at this size already?? If so, can I borrow the male after Bryan is finished with him? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but theres almost no info on these little guys out there. LOL, can you tell I'm hooked.

Also, please count me in for a few spiderlings when they are ready:) I'd love to have more of these guys. She/He took down a cricket nearly the same size as himself tonight, and is still working on it (though its dissapearing quickly). One of the most energetic feders I've ever seen. I'd love to get my hands on a Leetzi as well, any leads???

Amazing spider, I'd love to find/make more if possible! :)

Looking foreward to hearing/reading more!

many thanks,

-jasonic

PS: GoTerps, please pm me if you have a moment. I'd love to get my hands on more detailed care requirements, and species information. Of course I'm also very interested in these and or any other Cyriocosmus sp. you may have for sale/trade. I'm becoming a dwarf freak over here...lol, thanks again.
