even so Many people get killed and injured by horses and those are still most popular pet after dog and cat
exactly what i said in the letter to the attorney general. they also include everything under the family 'Suidae', which includes all domestic pigs and hogs, as being dangerous and illegal.

if anyone wants a copy of what i sent so that they can forward it as well, just send me a pm. i have a list of every person's email in the ct general assembly you can copy and paste to the email as well. i have officially been pissed off and am going to make a stink about this.

It will never pass IMO.
Such an outlook is nice. I used to be into dogs but it looks like I am in the same boat with T's. Can't escape this country. No matter you like to do the government will destroy it. This place is going to hell.

Pitbulls are banned in many places. There are witch hunts to find them, neighbors get paid off by the government to turn in neighbors. If they find you have a "pitbull" (and they can call just about anything they want a "pitbull") they will confiscate it and kill it.

So in the areas where "pitbulls" have been banned, pitbull attacks have been eradicated (duah!) but the number of dog bites have not gone down. They ban rotties, huskies, dobies, akitas and danes. It goes on. This has happened in many U.S. states and counties. Italy has bans and/or restrictions on 91 breeds and counting. U.S. is already following their lead.

Another example of a couple stupid people ruining it for the rest of us so stupid politicians make a stupid "solution", even after their "solution" is obviously not working they all still don't get it.

Welcome to the new US of A!

utterly idiotic.

esp as pretty much every arachnid has venom of some type, an indefensible position considering that there are hundreds of such venemous creatures in most homes.

as you are aware the amount of ignorance regarding spiders and animals in general is almost incomprehensible, a brief watch of various videos on youtube with tarantulas and the comments left does not give confidence in my fellow species. people in local government are not immune to being idiots in this regard either.
+1

More people are killed by dogs than will ever be killed by Ts. Yet we do not see any legislation against dogs. Hell if you are going to ban all "dangerous species" then you might as well ban them all.

yup.

the proposition is indefensible, the scientifically illiterate should not be making any such propositions, if asked 'why' and 'evidence for why' they simply will not be able to come up with a good answer and will make themselves look idiotic to the few who understand biology and animal husbandry, the masses unfortunately will not.

A warning for those in CT, if you press this issue with the state and it goes through, you could expect a knock on your front door at some point.

Did you not read the above post? If you own a big and/or guard type dog it will be banned somewhere in the US or Canada.

I think we should just ban stupid people! They ruin it for the rest of us.

I just wonder why they decided to group Tarantulas with venomous snakes. :?

Yeah... What with all of the minor problems like unemployment, national deficit, homeless Americans, and numerous environmental problems, I can see why this douche bag decides to make this his cause. Way to go! And they say carbon is the most common thing on our planet. I believe it's stupidity.:wall:

Remember folks: these effing idiots are collecting huge salaries from taxpayers, in order to work on completely ridiculous causes, such as this. AWESOME!

The same state has a representative (Rosa DeLauro) that would, in effect, 'outlaw' gardening. Take a look at HR875. That is her proposed bill. Then do a little research and find that her husband represents the firm that holds, by far, the most patents of genetically modified seed in the world. Again, AWESOME!

OKay... I'll jump off of my soap box. It just infuriates me to no end.

If you realy want to stop this from happening try to writ or email of call this man and tell him what your opinion is on the subject. Don't be adversarial to him but try to get what your feelings on the subject are.

Woops! I guess before too long we'll all be walking pugs and chihuahuas. Of coarse I am sure many pitbull enthusiasts have the same argument as we do right now. Though there are more deaths caused by pits than Ts.

Perhaps I am incorrect, but since these folks represent the populace of CT, I assume it's up to the "real" people living there to set their representatives straight.

There's a rep in our state of UT that wants to impose a special sales tax on anything containing caffeine. His argument is that we are already taxing Cigarettes, and they have a drug in them: nicotine, so why not tax everything that contains caffeine, as it is technically a drug as well?

These folks must be very, very bored.

As far as keeping arachnids goes, if that guy had done some research, he'd realize that the majority of folks in this hobby are responsible, and if it were not for them, many species would've been wiped out by now. Let alone the fact that T's are NOT dangerous.

Push your political agenda elsewhere, this has nothing to do with the Obama administration.
Coming just months after it was socially acceptable to reference the evils of Bush in nearly every topic imaginable... Notice that this topic is essentially a complaint regarding people telling others how to act and live their lives... Cough.

Anyway, YES WE CAN ban stuff, that's what government does. Increase influence [also known as cash flow] any way possible.
