Question: That amazonica male as defensive as I've experienced mine? They seemingly behave pretty much like a Psalm once mature at least...

I have raised multiple of both sexes and your right they are fiesty, but I have noticed, it's only in their territory. Once out, they are comparable to any other Avic. My aurantiaca, sp. Peru Purple, juruensis, and braunshauseni all show similar behavior. Just my observation.

Food-intense, yeah. But the sp. amazonica males I raised were both complete nutjobs no matter if in their enclosure, or outside. They really behaved a lot like diversipes, while the female I still have is way less prone to threaten, slap or bite even. Thanks for the info, interesting comparison Chase.

And braunshauseni are known for being generally more on the defensive over here. Surprised about juruensis though...
