Hey everyone,

I tried to mate my versi's.
The male i grew up from when it was a tiny blue sling, about 1.5 years ago.
The female i bought from someone 2 months ago (no real records, said to be 4 years old and molted 4 months ago... )
First i was not sure if the female was ready for it because she was smaller then the male...
Here u see some pictures of the first attempt.
After some pushing (and no drumming), the male went straight to the female, she was very positive about it...

female:

on the left the male, on the right the female:

and then... :

see ya

great pics!
Nice to see they got along fine, and your female was receptive! I'd give him a break, and try again in a week or so.
Good luck!

Hello.

For awhile now my versi sling has been that carribean blue that everyone loves. The last molt before this one came up was a blue but not bright bue. It was kind of grey. So I figured adult colors might be coming in soon.

I did my daily check and found out that my sling molted (5 days ago) was now "hardened" up. So I brought it upstairs for picture time! You can see the pinks, purples and greens.

This is my wife's favorite. I have many favorites...mostly all of my are my favorites!!!!

Enjoy the pics........

Also, for now I am unsure of sex of the little beast.

What a beauty, Chris! I can see how she can be everyone's favorite. Gorgeous colors! How big was she when you got her? :)

Oh, now I have to get one. It's absolutely beautiful! A. versicolor has been at the top of my "must haves" for a while now. Thanks for sharing!

Versi molt

Hello all!

First off....thanks for the comments.

Wendy...it was about 1/2" when I first got it. Now it's lingering around 2.5-3" legspan.

I am glad I helped adding more to your neverending "list". I feel like I have done something right for once...lmao.....

Thanks again!

Versi size

On June 14 he/she was about 1/2" legspan. Now half a year later he/she is about 2.5" legspan.

Although I don't condone the handling of tarantulas, your spider is very nice! This species looks so cute! I love the coloring at that stage!
