Do solifugaes have good ability of regeneration? Will molt helps a solifugae to regenerate its broken legs?

WOW! Those black ones are so big and cool looking!

I have kept a few WC Solifugae Eremobates that wandered into my house when I used to live in Victorville, CA.

I could never keep them alive for more than a few months, (longest one was a tiny juvie that lived 6 months) but they were always very interesting to watch.

will the solifugaes lay eggs without mating?
My galeodes sp.(Egypt)got mature about one month ago, and she is pregnant now and I think she will lay eggs in several days. However I also kept some galeodes caught from northwest China deserts, they get pregnant after mating and it's about 25days before they lay eggs.
I am not sure whether it is the difference between species or it's a common situation.

Is it possible they can store sperm from before maturity? I have no idea, just a thought that occured to me if it's WC

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I have two red solifugae Dinorhax rostrumpsittaci from Vietnam.
So far only adult males have come in, but this time they are female individuals.
It can be confirmed that one of them is carrying eggs.
There is also a plan to import them in the future, so there is a chance for them to breed.

hello!
I have been keeping a galeodes sp. It finished its last molting on June 15th,and lay unfertilized eggs in August, and there was black remains in her abdomen. I suppose it is poop or remaining eggs. I thinked she was going weak so I didn't feed her since then. However, today I found that the black remain in her body disappeared and she became active and started eating again. I have no idea about the life span of this animal...WHY she lay eggs without mating while some wildcaught ones cannot? Will they have more than one chances to lay eggs?
Really confusing…

Hello.
The black stuff in the abdomen is feces.
I don't know how the outdoor individuals are laying eggs.
If they have mated once, there is no need to mate again.
Females that have finished spawning begin foraging again after a while.
Breeding individuals, whether fertilized or unfertilized, lay eggs multiple times.

This is a Paragaleodes I got in July 2020 and it has not moved in almost 2 years. In my rearing environment, yellow Solifugae tend to have long dormancy periods.
Maybe not hibernating them would rather extend their lifespan? That is my opinion.
I will have to look into it.

sorry if you already answered this question but, how do you know its not dead??

Dormancy does not mean that they do not move at all.
You can also tell when they die because they change color and their bellies shrivel up.

Following this thread! I've held off on seeking out one of these guys to keep, seeing as all of the ones that I've seen for sale have been WC (and given how little info I could find on keeping these guys successfully for an extended period.) Thank you so much for this thread and all of the info in it!

Do you keep any species that aren’t from dry regions? I’m curious if more tropical, humid environment species have different live cycles (relating to dormancy and active periods)
