What would the worst of the symptoms be? Not any chance of death right?
I don't believe anyone is known to have died from a tarantula bite. Worst of the symptoms from what I've read would be severe pain and maybe muscle spasms.

no one has died from a T bite.

However some OW species documented in the medical literature do change the beating of your heart.

The pain is severe for some- read bite reports here at AB

I know that the venom is very potent, but would it be comparable to an OBT bit, or worse?
What @viper69 said

I've read that the venom from some Australian T's is strong enough to kill a dog.

That should give you an idea on how bad it will be for a human to get bit. You won't die but you'll feel like you are.

There was a paper circulating that compared different bites by symptoms, it was very interesting. I can't find it right now

This might be interesitng

I think you lot have covered just about everything I can think of. They are capable of painful bites and are 100% fatal to dogs. Last year was the first time I've ever actually seen someone lose their dog to one, thankfully they were understanding of the situation and didn't vow to wipe out all T's in the area.

One thing I will say is Australians seem to take their bites way too casually. So many keepers handle like it's nothing here and a decent number get tagged by juveniles each year. I think a full payload of venom from some of the larger 7-8" specimens would be absolute torture. Also, I believe some Selenotypus have the most potent insecticidal compounds in their venom of any known spider, so much so that are actually both venomous and poisonous

Ive never heard of any effects on the heart from Aussie T venom (Poecilotheria are known for that.) The most common symptons are being nauseous and vomiting for several hours. I also recall one guy having a headache. And someone else mentioned that after being bitten by an Aussie T, the pain spread up his arm and into his shoulder. In all the cases Ive read, the symptons last less than a day.
