I was reading that bark scorpions need vertical facing bark in order to facilitate molting - is this true? should the bark be 90 degrees to the top of the substrate or can it be angled?

While this is not the same species, but you will get the basic idea.

most definitely! i was thinking they *had* to be perfectly vertical because gravity was like crucial to their molting process but i think i see now - so basically anything they can latch onto and hang upside down then?

the species in question: C. sculpturatus

Bark scorpions is a broad term. For most species of bark scorpion, this is absolutely needed, and they always molt on a vertical surface. This doesn’t have to be perfectly vertical in a 90° angle, as long as gravity can assist it.

This is definitely the case for Centruroides as well.
