Local Aphonopelma hentzi male. Just had ultimate molt yesterday. The gold carapace is stunning.

thats an old pic and its on gravel cause thats where i found it ... well nto in the tank but in a gravel pit.

the T died of old age a few years ago. he just slowed down and started droppign legs and them curled...

also the reason i put this up , it because someone i know said they found one that had a pinkish carapace that was not a mature male.

It's a mature male Aphonopelma...beyond that no one could tell you from a pic. Depeding where you're at in Texas, this is when the hentzi "complex" matures...

I never thought the day would come when I held her, because she's usually really nasty and aggressive. She also layed eggs about a month ago, but she ate them. Lately, she's been really calm and sluggish. Soo... I attempted to hold her, for the very first time. I was very nervous.
