You can actually get these guys as freebies at certain sites, that's how I got mine, I didn't even want it in the first place but after having to remove it from a molt, it has grown on me; mine also appears to be the more "orange" form.That must have been pricey for a mature female! This is a species that I will definitely acquire multiples of because they are one of those "Holy Grail" species to me and combined with their slow growth, I would not want to start completely over with them. When the time comes, I think I will try to get at least 4 slings.
That is not bad but I look forward to having the spider in my care for 2-3 or more decades! Starting with a little sling is part of the appeal…raise em up and watch em grow….grow attached to them as they mature while they grow to hate your guts. If you can take a look at the species and not be enamored, you might not have a pulse..special creatures.I think big adult females were going for around $60.
