Came across a very pretty, fluffy juvenile male P. subfusca lowland yesterday and just couldn't pass him up. I have big plans for this little guy in the future. I'm either going to find him a girlfriend or send him off for breeding once he's mature.

I'm stoked, found myself a pair of large G. pulchra (young adult female and sub-adult male). Both were super chilled & lovely during unboxing/rehousing, but very different personality-wise (Mr was super confident & strolled right on out, Mrs was a shy one). They're just neighbors for now, but hopefully these two will be getting to know each other very well at... some point in the future haha. Already got some names too!

It's been almost a month since I got any T's, so my body was starting to ache and I was sweating. So...

0.0.1 Ornithoctoninae sp. malthai, 1" DLS (missing a couple wheels, but looks to have a molt coming soon):
View attachment 464767

0.0.1 Homoeomma sp. blue, 1.25" DLS (I think this is actually Thrixopelma longicolli, but was labeled Homoeomma):
View attachment 464768

0.0.1 Hapalopus sp. guerilla, 0.75" DLS (got this one a while ago):
View attachment 464769

0.0.1 Theraphosidae sp. yasumi, 0.625" DLS (in heavy premolt):

I feel much better now... 😁
I set a personal challenge in January not to get any more spiders. I put a daily reminder in my calendar in a big red border thats said "No more spiders". I think I have fallen off the wagon to the tune of about 10 so far so have yet to feel that dull aching pain you experienced this year 🤣

Maybe next month I will resist the urge. It is the shortest month after all - albeit the spider gods have decided to add an extra day to it this year!

Hey, someone has to take in and care for all those poor, helpless, homeless spiders - might as well be someone that's well qualified to do it, right? We can practice abstinence in other areas of our lives - areas that don't jeopardize the well being of innocent tarantulas...

Yes, let's keep telling ourselves we are fulfilling a public service. I like that 🤣

Today, for a long time, a package arrived from Poland with a few surprises. The animals are still very small but I'm really excited.
These are
3 Hyllus walckenaeri (L2), jumping spiders that I've been looking for for a long time,
5 Heterothele gabonensis (L3) because incredibly beautiful and
2 Janalychas tricarinatus (L2), because I finally want to see the miracle of parthogenesis for myself...

Been a good while; hope you're all doing well!

I took a big step back from the hobby in 2020 due to personal circumstances and rehomed most of my collection, venturing tentatively back into the foray with this lovely little girl!

No problem! Glad I could give it to someone who would enjoy it! I'm not keen on waiting a decade for it to get bigger so I'll just buy a juvie RCF or something when I find one.
