I started back in the late nineties with a G. rosea. Then A. avic. Then A. seemani. Then P. imperator. Then P. murinus. And then it exploded.

Over 800 at one point. Down to just over 100 now.

And I love it all!
Wow, where do you find room to keep them all? Do you have a whole room dedicated to the hobby?

I've found that the shoe box sized Kritter Keepers are perfect... you can stack them and keep more, and more, and more!! I'd love to have big beautiful vivariums for all of my Ts, but I'd need an entire home for all that. Only blondi get spoiled in my home.

I started in the late '70s with what was sold to me as a "Goliath Bird Spider" which I had for about 5 years, now that I know more I doubt that it was anything more than a big G. rosea. I got another one in about '84, and my first captive bread G. rosea in '88 as a sling. He matured male and I got another-there weren't many options and I couldn't afford a B. smithi at the time  . Anyway when that male died in '06 I looked around and discovered that while I was contentedly keeping my one or two G. roseas at a time a whole trade in Ts had erupted. WOW! What a lot of choices {D {D . I now have about 60 mostly slings and sub-adults.

I started in 2006 with an OBT from a local pet store and the rest is history. I'm currently holding at 72, but there's a show in February in Oregon and I'm sure that I'll come home loaded. I have a lot of juvies right now that I'll keep some/sell some as they're sexed, but I also have a BIG wish list of new acquisitions I'm looking for. Addicted.

We're prolly goin' to the same show IdahoBiteyThing. I've already got a wish list of 9 T's I plan to get there which will bring my total T count to 13. This isn't counting any of the freebies I'll probably get tossed in with my buys as well. *crosses fingers*

The only question after that show will be, with 13 tarantulas, how long should I wait till I get more? June? All in all my grand wish list totals about 40.
