...has a light colored patch on its abdomen (and perhaps one under the leg next to it). After searching the boards, it seems this is generically a cyst of some kind, and that it can be caused by abdomen dragging, an injury, a weak spot after a molt, etc. The general recommendation is to just...
I had a juvenile molt to expose a perfectly round perforation. It very well could've been anything from being penetrated by a sharp piece of substrate while molting to a small cyst rupturing... Whatever it was, it took 2 molts to disappear completely. Just keep an eye
Congrats. She's stunning!

Should i wait until her exoskeleton fully heal or should i do it as soon as possible? She is still in a very vulnerable state and hasn’t left het hide yet. I’ll try to keep her updated to see if she could pull through
Really felt like i got hit by the worst beginner‘s bad luck possible lol...
It could be a cyst...but it almost looks like a molting issue where the exo didnt fully form....it looks like its bulging just a bit...but i cant be completely sure based on the pic
It's very odd, maybe @cold blood or @viper69 would definitely know.
I want to say it's some kind of cyst but I have no idea. I've never seen something like that before.
I had this T since it was a sling. Raised it for 7 years to get it to this size, which is rather slow. I must admit there was a period of time where I neglected it and contemplating selling it, but no significant injury. The only thing i could think of is that patch is also on the same spot as...
That is the most odd thing I've seen in a while on a T's abdomen. My eyes are not the best anymore. Could it be some type of cyst?, I'm not sure. Then there's those little grayish white specks at the top left that at first appear to look like mites but then they don't.
Have you had this T...
It appears to be a cyst. In terms of cysts, it could get worse with each molt or get better with each molt, but no one would know for sure. Because only time will tell whether it'll recover fully or not. For starters, if the tarantula eats and if the cyst isn't leaking fluid, then it's at least...
...exoskeleton can be damaged/injured underneath the existing exoskeleton, and you won't see it until it molts. It could've even been a ruptured cyst. A hydration issue where the two layers of exo were not properly separated during molting. No one disturbed it while molting correct? No recent...
Last one I bought I got sold one with a tumor but was not offered a full refund. So I kept it and it only lived a year or so. So inspect it well . The pictures I got of it purposely hid the cyst . It’s definitely a species I’ll get again but they can be very defensive. Not a beginner species.
Thank you for your response. I checked on her this afternoon and it appears the bursting point has scabbed over a little, looks wet still but no signs of leaking at the moment. She a little less lethargic too, but still not her self. I have manged to get some corn starch onto the area without...
It looks like a cyst from a rough molt. Is it eating? If it eats, then there's a small chance of hope. But honestly, it's anyone's call on whether it'll survive or not.
Looks like a huge cyst/abcess of some kind, and at the bursting point if it's leaking. Not good.
You could try to apply some corn starch to stop the leak but be INCREDIBLY careful not to put any pressure on the bump. Ideally you should let her walk over a small pile of corn starch and hope...
it looks like the exterior of a booklung to me, thus the different texture and injury like flap
i can see how it could look like a cyst or injury
again you will have to do the final determination if it has been injured or not, i can only go by interpreting what i see in your pictures
...the patterns in the setae, but the white spot at the base is concerning. I took a closer look and it looks more like an injury to me than a cyst, but I could be mistaken. It looks to go through the exoskeleton to some extent. It's dry, no hemolymph leakage, so I think she'll be ok after a...
...and the bark or something similar snd scraped off most of the outer setae in certain areas where the surface was rough
i might be wrong but it doesn't look like an injury or cyst to me
you may want to check if there is a place where somehing like that could have happend
did the burrow...
...is slightly misshapen.
She has eaten since I've had her, but refused last week. I'll offer her food before taking more pictures tonight. She looks due for a molt for sure.
Is this a cyst? I'll take some better pictures when I get home tonight if necessary. She's in isolation for the time being
