The Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans has...

A tarantula.

That’s it.

Just...tarantula.
After telling one of the volunteers that she had several tarantulas at home, the volunteer asked my daughter if that was legal.

I think the spirit of volunteerism is admirable, but is it wrong to expect just a slight amount of effort toward the source material?

It could be P. regalis as they are very common but it could be other less common look alikes, for example P. striata. If it has a cream colored (white) band on the underside of the abdomen it's a Poecilotheria regalis.
