I'm trying to figure out is my G. rosea sling a girl or a boy. What do you think? On the left there's a natural, untouched photo and on the right I added some contrast. Sling is pretty small with LS 3 cm and I'm wondering is it even possible to determine this! :P Suggestions?
They might be too small still. I would wait for them to get a bit bigger.
The good thing about this species is that they are slow growing and even males have a decent lifespan... often far longer than males of most other species.
@Arcana It won't be that much longer before someone can make a good guess. You should try and get a hold of the moult because that is the only really accurate way of sexing them. Plus, you can often sex them younger from a moult than from a ventral photo.
You should always confirm with a moult. Ventral sexing can give you an idea, some species more accurately than others, but it is never 100% accurate.
