Please help ID pet store spider
Pet store find. Labeled as Haitian bird eater. It’s around 3” or so for 29$(canadian)
What is it and is this a decent price?
Phormictopus sp., possibly even auratus if the color shows true in the pic. No clue about Canadian prices, though.

Thanks guys. I just found a juvie for 45$ so I think I’ll pick it up.
I’m not one to buy from pet stores but he’s going out of business so I will. Thanks again for the help

Interesting it looks so similar to a seemani just a huge abdomen? Can u tell me the difference? It also favors a nahndu chromatus to me

@spacelord :wideyed:. I find it really interesting what people see. To me it is impossible to see anything seemanni or chromatus in that pic.

1. metallic sheen on the carapace practically screems Phormictopus.
2. Drop-like shape of the abdomen practically screems Phormictopus.

Together those two factors make it Phormictopus for sure.

A. seemanni has the same color all over and definitely no reddish hairs on the abdomen and a completely different shape. Maybe you need to adjust color settings?

N. chromatus has no metallic sheen, a much redder abdomen, and much stronger markings on the legs and a completely different shape.
