Maule and Concepcion is the same.

So what is it? Are they distinct species or is it a misnomer?

Grammostola rosea has been sold as "Maule"
Grammostola sp. "Cafe" has been sold as "Maule"
Grammostola sp. "Concepcion" has been sold as "Maule" as well.

Those are the species that a giving name was giving years ago, so the name "Maule" should not be labelled too those species. When I say that Concepcion is the same species as Maule that's because some people are still selling Concepcion under that name. Technically Maule should not be used at all. There is no such species as Maule when sellers are selling more than one species under that name.

Hope that make sense. Your spider has the large scopula therefore it's Concepcion not Maule.
