Homoeomma chilense
There's a patch of orange hairs at the base of her abdomen. Progress!
Assuming you bought it as a sling, how long did it take to grow to that size? I've heard the growth rate of these beauties is glacially slow, but at least they live a long time!

I want one so badly. :plot:

From a second instar sling it took her around 18 months. Five molts so far in my care.
Eighteen months isn't too long. I'd guess the 1/8" inch ones for sale are around 2nd or 3rd instar; the 1/4" around 4th maybe...

I've just been thinking about their overall longevity and how long they live in their adult size. Counting the eighteen months, for a male, that's roughly 40-50% of its lifespan, and about 20% of the female's. That's decent. I was curious how long they spend as adults.

As you've probably noticed, there's not a ton of info on Cyriocosmus husbandry so I'm collecting as much as I can, although I'm sure I'll learn a lot by simply getting some and caring for them.

I imagine they spend a lot of time in their burrows, but depending on a multitude of factors I'm sure they can be coaxed out with the right feeding habits (not overfeeding or feeding on a set schedule).

Thanks for your reply!
