Harpactira cafreriana

Freshly molted 2.5 inch female. I was hoping to see orange this molt but no luck yet.
Gorgeous species, I'm always on the fence on this one.
Im very curious as to what a mature female actually looks like. It looks like people are blasting the saturation and it's hard to tell.

Both of mine are super docile. If I was into handling old worlds, this pair would be my choice. They will destroy a roach, but they chill and stay put for any maintenance.

Interesting behavior! Yeah a lot of images are photoshopped! I hear good things on this species might have to research them a bit more, thanks!

One of my favorite baboons! This was my male one molt before he matured - I had it marked as female because the accessory organs were big enough to fool me (no photo editing, just used flash):

Upon maturing, he got really orange - I don't think your female will ever turn that bright orange, but will stay more copper colored like the Immature male above...

I say go for it if you can find them - they're a bit expensive, but a beautiful, dwarf baboon that is relatively easy going and infrequently available won't ever be cheap!

Awesome. Thank you for the insight. I'm hoping I get lucky and get a male and female. I think the orange on the males is my favorite of any tarantula so far. That dark orange mixed with black is sooo beautiful.

I noticed the prices - can’t figure that one out for a baboon
