A while back I was sold this beautiful tarantula at my local pet shop. She was sold to me as an Orphnaecus sp. 'Blue Panay', but when I look up images of this species they don't appear to look similar to her, and I couldn't find much info on whether they have any variants of color. To me she looks like she's more likely to be some sort of Pseudhapalopus.
She's about 2'' in body length, probably 2.5-3'' legspan.
Let me know if I missed anything. I'm mostly a lurker.
My first thought when I saw this thumbnail on the homepage was "hey, that's a pretty nice Pseudhapalopus sp. blue"... I think it's definitely not Orphnaecus sp. "blue Panay" - the proportions are wrong for that genus. Your assumption that it's a Pseudhapalopus of some sort seems pretty good to me, either P. sp. blue or P. sp. Colombia.

Yeah, that's what I figured as well. My guess is the shop got the labelling on the enclosures mixed up because when I got this spider they also had another that did in fact look like an Orphnaecus sp. "Blue Panay", color and proportions-wise. I'm pretty sure they also had a properly labelled Pseudhapalops sp. 'Columbia' at the same time too; I remember thinking how similar it looked to my "Orphnaecus", just a bit more purple and gold, so my guess is they had the Blue and Columbia as a pair and I picked up the Blue.
Either way, it's nice to get some second opinions/confirmation. Thank you for your help!
