Is it safe to say that what I bought is indeed what it was sold as "Selenocosmia sp: black velvet"
I think you have Haplopelma not Selenocosmia

pattern on the abdomen dont really exist on Selenoscosmia genus plus the legs and other things make me think you have Haploplema.

do you have another shot of its chelicerae? does it have white mustache around the side? if pronounced, could be hainanum (another Haplopelma)
 
@EDED thank you for the input this is what I thought to I just have little experience with Asian fossorial T's. I knew most of the Selenocosmia sp I have seen did not have much pattern on the abdomen that is what made me question its species.
 
My guess would allso be Haplopelma..., but not hainanum.

Can you make a good picture of leg IV?
I see a little blueish on the legs, not enough for lividum but maybe longipes...
