No offense, but it looks like the enclosure might be why. Fill it more than half full of substrate and pack it down. Then give her a little hide and start a burrow under the hide so she can dig. She looks like she's looking for a hiding place. Ditch the sponge in the water dish.
@Thistles I agree with your suggestion! except I did that.... she dragged and webbed all the dirt to one side of her tank and hangs out on the bare side.. (I have changed substrates to see if it changes... same thing every time.)
@tommytarantula6616 Hm, interesting. Mine usually settle in and burrow eventually. Is the substrate packed down well enough that it makes a solid sort of pad? They don't like shifting ground under their toes. I'd add a ton more dirt, like so much dirt that she can't have it all on one side without overflowing, and really pack it in there. Good luck with her, and funny pic!
@Thistles I will for sure try that! As for the hide... she finds a way to flip it over as well as her water dish (hence the sponge).. this is the most stubborn T i have lol doesnt do anything in the norm. basically out walking around all the time lmfao!
Aww these are the little things that I love about our T’s, every now and then you’ll meet one with a silly little quirk! I’ve not experienced this with any of mine. If she’s eating and thriving I’d just assume it’s just a thing she does! How cute! xxx
