I have kept two Avics and a Psalmopoeus cambridgei. The latter is pretty fast (and is commonly recommended as a bridge to Old World arboreals for that reason), but admittedly, my NW arboreals don't pose the same flight risk as an Old World arboreal.What arboreals have you kept in this enclosure type? Looking over this thread again, I notice most of the discussion being on Avics, and my understanding is that their behavior is quite different from an OW arboreal.
I think some of the same safety protocols will apply, however: know where the spider is before you open the cage. Don't leave an open cage unattended (not even for a moment). If possible, try to do maintenance when the spider is in her retreat.
