Can someone please tell me the max size for the various Cyriocosmus species please...and please indicate if that includes legspan or not?

I'm looking to get back into T's a bit, and just want a small collection of "dwarfs" this time.

Thanks for any help.

Eric,

As far as I know yes, I was told the info was now public and it was fine to update things.

You probably have the paper by now, but not to look like I do not answer the question:

Hi Martin!

Interesting info.
First description by Radan and it's cyROCOSMUS :)
Does it this sp. Bolivia which is the largest mamber of Cyrocosmus genus now?

Interesting that he doesn't include it at his theraphosid taxo news :) here:
http://www.theraphosidae.cz/taxonomy/news.htm

This should be anonced here but as You see it is not updated yet - http://www.sea-entomologia.org/Publicaciones/RevistaIbericaAracnologia/RevistaIbericaAracnologia.htm
BTW. You'll find some old but still very nice articles there ;)

Hi Eric and all,

It's already published? Where?
  • KADERKA, R. (2007): Cyriocosmus perezmilesi sp. n. from Bolivia (Araneae: Theraphosidae: Theraphosinae). Revista Ibérica de Aracnología 14: 63-68.

    Abstract:
Cyriocosmus perezmilesi sp. n. from Bolivia, Beni province, is described, diagnosed
and keyed inside the inner group of Cyriocosmus Simon 1903 which is
represented by species with reduced paraembolic apophysis in male palpal bulb
structures. The new species can be distinguished from all other cogeners, except
    C. blenginii Pérez-Miles 1998, by uniformly coloured carapace and lateral
four-striped pattern on abdomen. C. perezmilesi sp. n. differs from C. blenginii
by presence of the reduced paraembolic apophysis and bicolour femora (reddish
    brown, distally black).

all the best,
Martin

It's been way too long without a post in this lovely thread!

A few comparisons, first one is extreme variations of the abdominal pattern of C. perezmilesi. Note the specimen where all the stripes touch the patch which is an extreme not mentionned in the paper*VS a specimen that has almost no stripes showing.

Second is comparison of the so called Cyriocosmus sp. "leetzi" Venezuela and the C. leetzi. Assuming that the distinguishing factor was the number of lines on the abdomen, well there is no distinction so far that I can see.
