A. amoreuxi actually doesn't have too thick of a tail. Heres a picture -

Its not a Vaejovis sp., looks completely different.
I still think its A. amoreuxi.

A couple of mine have dug around the vial, but since the sand isnt compacted they wont be able to have a burrow. When I rehouse them maybe I'll compact the sand and see if any of them will start a burrow.

Can't help you there, but the Kovarik paper may be of help as it has pictures of each species. It also has descriptions of each if I remember correctly.

Hey Michiel,
I'm fairly certain this is not H. polystictus, if the descriptions are correct. It says H. polystictus has elongated metasomal segments. But who knows with Hottentotta now adays. I will definitely let everyone know the ID!
