That's what tarantulas do tarantulalover, its perfectly normal. They're creatures that are much different than ourselves, and we can't explain them. Let me suggest something though, if I were you I'd take a step back from the keyboard and just lurk around here for awhile. You haven't been...
My room got up into the upper 80's today because the air conditioner broke, and the t's don't seem to mind or care at all, even my P. subfusca "Highland" molted and those are supposed to like cooler temps. I honestly wouldn't worry about it much, unless it started to get into the 100's.
It'll be fine, I play both electric and acoustic guitar in the room with the t's, and I haven't noticed anything odd with mine. I try not to let it get too loud, but every once in awhile I'll forget and it'll get loud, and they're all good.
No problem, I lost a lot of T's to nematodes, so I'm very glad yours doesn't seem to be infected with them. Still, keep him quarantined for a little while and keep an eye on him. Keep us updated, feel free to ask any questions if you have any.
If the spider is still eating, it most likely does not have nematodes. Does it keep its palps curled under its fangs? From my experiences with nematodes the spider keeps its palps curled under its fangs. Another things to check for would be a white mass on the spiders mouth. Like I said, if...
I ended up separating the territorial one from the others, the remaining four are huddling together so hopefully I wont have any more problems. Thanks for your help guys
So today I received 5 C. gracilis, I'm more of a t guy myself. I'm keeping them communally in a large KK with lots of hides and most have already eaten. There is one scorp that has been very territorial however, whenever another scorp comes near it it responds with a tail flick and attempted...
Welcome to the boards! G rosea/Rose Hair are from the Atacama Desert in Chili, one of the driest places in earth. All the moisture that this species needs can be provided from a water dish, just make sure the dish is always topped up with water, no misting is required. A heating pad is not...
2 adult lats every couple of days for like 2 weeks, up from 1 adult lat per week. She molted mid July. It might of just been a case of mistaken identity, as soon as he stepped out of the deli cup she went after him. She's not what I'd call your perfect first t, she's very territorial and...
Well, I tried breeding my roseas for the first time ever tonight. I introduced the male and the male just calmly walked over her hide and she just went after him. Anybody that is experienced in breeding have a couple suggestions?:(

I love kayaking. Up here in NH we were kayaking on Lake Winniepesaukkee(I can never spell it) my brother saw one just as around 5 inches and he flipped the kayak taking himself with it. We still remind him of it.{D
I sick and tired of people saying everybody is gonna screw over the hobby by holding their spiders...Yes, it could happen, but its not a GUARANTEE. Please stop overreacting.
The problem is yes, like everyone else is saying, liability. The local exotics store doesn't sell pedes, some scorps, and some t's to minors because of the liability. One more thing to say to people in this thread: exaggerate much?
